Building sound businesses doesn't go out of style

Ventures can ride waves and market momentum, but it's much more predictable and sustainable to build a sound business. More freedom of choice, less dependency on externalities. It's also much easier to know what to prioritize and work on. One is like day-trading or "unconstrained" hedge bets (sure, that can look fun sometimes, be enticing, and some people win), the other is like well-considered, long-range PE investing (consistent disciplined work to build increasing future value) -- http://techcrunch.com/2016/01/24/the-end-of-the-big-venture-formula/
